This 3-Quart enamel Dutch oven is great for cooking, marinating, refrigeration and freezing. The color porcelain enamel on cast iron can be used on gas, electric, ceramic and induction cooktops, as well as in the oven. Not recommended for use on outdoor grills or over open outdoor flames. Not for use in microwaves. Lodge Color Porcelain Enamel on Cast Iron cookware is cast from molten iron in individual sand molds. The porcelain surface eliminates the need to season cast iron. The cast iron vessel has superior heat distribution and retention, evenly heating bottom sidewalls and even the lid. Tightly fitting lid seals in moisture. The excellent heat retention reduces the amount of energy needed for cooking. Two layers of very hard, glossy porcelain enamel are chip resistant and easy to clean. Lid knob is oven safe to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. The black rim on the pot is matte porcelain, not exposed cast iron. Hygienic porcelain enamel is non-reactive with food. Lack of durability I’m not a picky person and it’s very very rare for me to give a product 2 star!I have to say I was very happy when I got this product. It looks just like my mom’s big old Le Creuset Dutch Oven and it’s much much cheaper.The first two cooking experience (braise short ribs and made some casserole in oven with 375 degree) was nice, it worked fine and was easy to clean. But today when I brown chicken breast, I heard of a pop and the oven looks like as following pic.I promise I followed…
Love this Dutch Oven! Perfect size! I used this pan to make soup. It takes a while, on medium low heat to come up to boil, but when it does…it cooks quickly!The lid fit perfectly! The interior is a little bumpy, but not bad. The pan cooks beautifully! I love it! There is nothing like cooking in a cast iron dutch oven! Having enamel cover the entire pan makes it even better! It cleans ip easily! It is very heavy, but thst is what makes it cook better than other pans.The size is perfect!I made enough dumplings…
Chef approved, with one minor issue. As a chef, I take special care in my choice of cookware, appliances, kitchen gadgets, etc. and I can unequivocally say that cast iron, especially ones that are enameled well, are great cooking vessels. I cook extensively for home and also for clients as a private chef and this dutch oven is awesome for my uses! After a year and a half, it has held up well, non-stick properties are still good, there are no permanent stains and no chips off the paint. It has also maintained it’s vibrant red color…
