  1. Vegetable oil seasoned, not too heavy, not too light. I haven’t used this to cook yet, so I may update this review. It came in a well-sized cardboard box. I’d say it’s medium weight, not as light as cheaper ones, but not so heavy that it’s hard to work with. The iron seems relatively smooth, but this is my first cast iron purchase in many years, so I don’t have a good reference. I’m currently seasoning it with 5 or 6 rounds of flaxseed oil before use.
