The coating is very thin. I was really hopeful when I got this pan to cook fried eggs in and, as with most non-stick pans it worked exceptionally well at first. I have never used it hotter than medium low and always hand washed it after it cooled. Not long after I had it I needed to use a little oil or the eggs would stick but clean up was easy.
