Noisy and inaccurate temperature settings Two issues I had. First, the controller makes a very annoying loud humming noise when it comes on. Second. the controller temperature settings do not accurately reflect the skillet temperature. The skillet is much hotter than the setting indicates. I measured the temperature with a infrared thermometer I use for work and at the 250 degrees setting the surface was 325+ degrees. At the 300 degree setting the surface measured 410+ degrees. Skip this unit. Really…just move on. On first impression, the skillet seems wonderful. I am impressed with the non stick coating and it is a great size to cook on. But the cord is really a disappointment. It is short, and has a built in right angle that makes it difficult to use positioned on the left side, unless your outlet is very close. For such a nice skillet, it seems like a poor design that was cheapened out on. Another 6 – 12 inches would have made things so much easier and wouldn’t have added much to the cost…
