Featuring ETERNA — a safe and durable non-stick coating developed in the USA, the Stainless Steel Earth Pan by Ozeri is the world’s first stainless steel frying pan to achieve non-stick perfection without using PFOA or APEO — harmful chemicals often found in traditional cookware. Conventional pans achieve their non-stick performance with the aid of PFOA (PerFluoroOctanoic Acid), a potential carcinogen which the EPA has classified as a ‘persistent pollutant of the environment’, and APEO (Alkylphenol ethoxylates), which are under restricted use in Germany due to environmental concerns about their poor biodegradability and toxicity in the food chain. According to the EPA, once ingested, PFOA is capable of remaining in people for a very long time, and has been shown to cause developmental and other adverse effects in laboratory animals. Likewise, European studies have shown that APEO may be toxic to aquatic life, and has the potential to act as endocrine disrupters. With the Stainless Steel Earth Pan’s ETERNA coating, even under high temperatures, no controversial perfluorinated chemicals are ever released into the environment. This is because the Stainless Steel Earth Pan utilizes a safer non-stick coating that is completely free of PFOA, and far more durable and scratch-resistant than other non-stick surfaces. With better non-stick properties, the Stainless Steel Earth Pan allows you to saute, fry, bake, boil and braise with as little as half the amount of oil normally used, and cleaning is a breeze. The Stainless Steel Earth Pan by Ozeri is made of the highest quality 18/8 stainless steel with TriPly construction, delivering the ultimate in heat conductivity for even cooking and browning without hot spots. It boasts a magnetized bottom for rapid heat transfer on induction stoves, and a polished mirror exterior. Your satisfaction is guaranteed. ETERNA coating made by Whitford USA. Fell in love with it – beautifully balanced and super slippery surface … Purchased the 10 inch in December 2013. Fell in love with it – beautifully balanced and super slippery surface made it fun to cook with. It became my go-to pan for general purpose cooking and now permanently resides on my stove-top. The pan is designed with a flat heat distribution plate on the bottom only. This makes it lighter and better balanced than pans that carry the heat distribution layer all the way up the sides. Unless you like to cook with a high gas flame that laps up the sides of…
Small cooking surface, not what should be expected in a 12″ pan, too much side slope Although this pan is 12 inches at the top, it is only 9 inches at the bottom. No other frying pan or skillet I have loses more than 2 inches in diameter from top to bottom and the item description does not specify the unusual fact that this one does. I have a 10 5/8″ skillet with the same bottom surface as this pan and my 12″ cast iron skillet has 10 1/2 ” of bottom cooking surface. When I received the product I realized that it would not work for the full range of purposes for…
Scratched After 3 Uses I’ve used this pan 3 times to give it a chance, but I give up. It’s awful. I bought it pretty much exclusively to use to cook egg white omelets, which were burning on my stainless steel pan. The first time I used the pan, without any cooking spray since it’s nonstick, the egg whites stuck to the pan and it emitted a terrible chemical-ish burning smell. I had to throw the eggs away. I tried again using a small amount of cooking spray & was thrilled with the results – eggs cooked perfectly &…
