Great Non Stick Pan after Seasoning! Just bought this pan and I am very impressed already. I seasoned it with pure flaxseed oil – I put @1 tsp of oil in the pan, spread it with a clean cloth so only a light layer remained, then heat it at high heat on my gas range until it started smoking. Remove from heat and let cool, then repeat 9 more times. Cooking surface is now a slick, black surface. Don’t be afraid to let it smoke – this is what creates the slick surface. 3mm thick pan. Seasons well. Great quality. I seasoned this pan about 7 times in a 450 degree oven for 30 minutes using very light coatings of flaxseed oil. I purchased the 11 inch pan size, which gives an 8 inch cooking area. Then fried some bacon on it. Of course it’s the first time so a little bit stuck to the pan. Wiped it out. Then fried an egg which was quite non-stick! I enjoy using this pan, and I’m sure it will get even more non-stick as time goes on.The package says the pan is 3mm thick so it does match the deBuyer…
A beauty I hope I am not speaking too soon, but I love this small pan. As to its size, it is just right for a hamburger, a grilled cheese sandwich, a couple of eggs. At first I seasoned it with coconut oil, which I discovered during the first use, had no efdect, as far as seasoning goes. The hamburger patty stuck, and whatever coating there had been came right off. I researcher online and on YouTube and decided to clean it up with hot water and a little soap, dry it thoroughly and start all over, this…
