Experience Better Cooking with a Premier Cast Iron Skillet from LODGE!

SEASONED & READY TO USE.

Lodge seasons all of their cookware with vegetable oil before it leaves the foundry, so all you have to do is give it a quick rinse and you’re ready to cook. Seasoning is cooking oil that has been baked onto the iron, forming a natural, easy-release finish for less sticking. The more you use your cast iron, the better your seasoning will become, making your cast iron darker and smoother over time.

Lodge products are perfect for everything from baking to braising, frying to roasting. This piece in particular is perfect for making your signature entrees, as well as for use as a serving plate – the durable cast iron easily goes from oven-to-table for fast, efficient service.

This set includes 1 red silicone handle holder that resists heat up to 450°F and protects your hands against burns. Finally, no matter your culinary skills, the complementary recipe cookbook from SALIENT HOME is great to enhance your skills.

This skillet has two convenient pour lips for ease of use & a lid with an integral oven proof handle. The lid has self-basting tips on the underside to allow juices to continually baste the food as it cooks, retaining vitamins for healthier fare.

CLEANING & CARE.

Hand washing this pan with warm soapy water is recommended to preserve the cookware’s seasoned finish. For extra stuck-on bits, an occasional trip through the dishwasher is fine, just apply a thin coat of cooking oil to it afterward to maintain the seasoning.

It needed a lid for the 12 inch so I was delighted to discover this one on Amazon. These are the reasons that I love my Lodge Cast Iron 12 inch Lid:1 When I cover my 12 inch skillet, I cwn place my pan with cover into my oven…even at say 450 or higher degrees. I usually bake at 350 degrees using my cast iron in the oven, however.2 Self Basting Lid…this lid has spikes inside it. The spikes…

The only reason I did not give five stars is that the knobs on the underside are inferior to the concentric rib design of the lid to an old Griswold Dutch oven that I have. The knobs do not catch and return condensed moisture nearly as well, and they make it very difficult to dry the lid’s underside.Cast-iron “seasons” with the accumulation of imperceptibly thin layers of oils that “dry” like oil-based…
